Catapult Plus

Catapult Plus will be at Acadia University August 7-11, 2024!

Catapult Plus supports camp alumni through high school and the transition to post-secondary goals. The highlight is our 4-day summer conference at Acadia University where participants learn skills like managing time and public speaking, career coaching and the return on investment in education. Catapult Plus is optional - students must practice their leadership skills during the year in order to earn their conference registration. The expectation is that the ongoing guidance will motivate our students to reach higher and improve their chances of success. Successful completion of the Catapult Plus program qualifies for a high school transcript Personal Development Credit from the NS Department of Education.

What’s involved?

Catapult alumni can join Catapult Plus by committing to focus on our 5 core leadership areas over the course of the next school year. Our handbook and templates guide them in each area to help achieve success. At the end of the school year, students submit a final report on their progress and earn their FREE registration to our summer Catapult Plus Conference at Acadia University.

How does Catapult Plus work?

Catapult Alumni will receive a Catapult Plus Handbook which provides resources, examples and templates to be used while completing the following components:

  1. Complete a Pay-It-Forward project- Either with a group or on your own, organize a school event, fundraiser or activities to help your local community.

  2. Get involved-Join a group, club or team at your school or in your community.

  3. Read the Catapult Teen Book- Each member of Catapult Plus will receive a copy of the book. Read and reflect on what you learned.

  4. Set annual goals- Learn how to create an action plan to reach your goals.

  5. Enhance your money management skills- Create a monthly budget and take control of your finances.

Catapult completely changed my life and significantly impacted my high school experience. The program pushed me to apply what I’d learned about leadership into action. I was given the tools to accomplish my goals, as well as the encouragement and confidence that I would succeed.
