, FCA – Founder and Chair
Jane is the Founder of Catapult. She is a (Fellow) Chartered Accountant and was named Nova Scotia’s CA of the Year for 2009. Currently retired, Jane has held several senior financial positions, most recently as CFO of Greenwood Lane Inc. She was the Founding Chair of the Provincial Autism Centre, Founding Vice-Chair of the Autism Golf Ball and Founding Chair of the Medavie War Canoe Challenge as well as Past President of Financial Executives International.


, CA – Vice Chair
Margot is a Chartered Accountant and works as an independent consultant. Her focus ranges from conference design to financial budgeting and analysis for companies like NSBI and Aliant. She has been the Event Operator of the 2-day CBC Hockey Night in Canada’s ‘Play On!’ street hockey event the previous five years, growing it by 130% to over 4300 participants.

, FCA – Fundraising Director
Donnie is President and CEO of Crombie REIT. He is a (Fellow) Chartered Accountant and has completed leadership programs at the Harvard Business School and the University of Western Ontario Ivey School of Business. He is a Past President of the NS Institute of CA’s. Donnie’s passion for leadership and his desire to empower youth with strong leadership values makes him an excellent addition to the Catapult team.

Dr. Howard Conter, MD – Fundraising Director
Dr. Howard Conter is a well-known physician who has been practicing family medicine in Halifax for over 25 years. Howard has a keen interest in preventive medicine with a strong wellness approach and is one of the driving forces of ExecuTest Inc. His other philanthropic pursuits include Air Canada’s Dream Take Flight and the Tema Conter Memorial Trust. Dr. Conter provides a vision towards Catapult’s extended programs and services along with the passion to make it happen.

Marlene Nicholson – Treasurer
Marlene is a self-employed Accountant, offering bookkeeping, office management and event planning services to a variety of clients in the Halifax area. Marlene is also active with her church where she sits on the Baptismal Preparation Team and does fundraising for Companions of the Cross.


, CA – Secretary
Ashley is a Chartered Accountant currently working as an independent tax consultant in the Annapolis Valley. In addition to volunteering in an orphanage for one month in Rwanda, Ashley has experience running food drives, being a member of a Women in Leadership committee and has rappelled down the MacDonald bridge in a fundraising initiative for Easter Seals. She has a strong passion to give back to her community and is thrilled to be contributing to the development of the mentorship and employment programs for Catapult.



Stefanie has a Degree in Leadership from Dalhousie and works as Manager of Business Development for Cushman & Wakefield. Her entrepreneurial initiatives began at age 19 when she started purchasing, renovating and operating rental properties. She has been a Counselor at both Catapult’s summer camp and conference.



Mike started his first business at age 13 and is now CEO of Clean Simple and runs 2 other companies. A SMU business grad, he won the prestigious Frank H. Sobey Award for Excellence in Business Studies. Mike also serves on the Boards of Junior Achievement and Feed NS.



Marc has a PhD in marine biology and works with Stantec Consulting as a Senior Scientist & Biostatistician. He is an Adjunct Professor with the Faculty of Graduate Studies at Dalhousie University. Marc is also a Canadian Forces Army Reserve officer with over 20 years of service in medical operations, planning, and training. Marc helped to organize our first ever Catapult grad workshop.
